Your Fresh Content Delivers Results

Use of a Blog to Write Quality Fresh Content Optimized with Keywords Can Become The Most Important Method to Drive Traffic To Your Website, Products & Services

I’m flying today, joining my mother for some girl fun in the Southeast.  I’m gifted several hours buckled into my seat on the plane, uninterrupted time I can devote to my iPad complete with a $12.95 Wi Fi internet connection on my Delta flight.    Flying from Idaho to Georgia provides a long stretch with no phone calls, no web projects taking precedence, and oh ya, no answering spelling questions for my husband.  Its just me and my iPad, and a quiet person sitting in the window seat next to me. What a perfect opportunity to share some thoughts about online content on my personal blog at MaryMangold.com

Now I’ll be the first to admit that there are lots of diversions in every day life that seem to constantly demand our attention to perform tasks other than writing fresh quality content for our websites.  Diverse interruptive activities are the norm for high energy,  multi-tasking  entrepreneurs.

IDENTIFY SOMEONE WHO CAN WRITE FRESH CONTENT FOR YOUR WEBSITE, IF ITS NOT YOU!

If you find that your busy schedule makes it impossible to write articles, select someone in your firm who seems to have a flair for writing.  Its time to review the tasks receiving valuable time, and re-prioritize the list so that consistent writing of fresh keyword rich, quality content on your website or blog is on the A list.    Writing regular articles for your blog post can mean the difference between a steady growth in revenues and not so appealing results.   With just a bit of effort, and sharing buttons installed from the many plugins available, the creation of quality fresh content on your website should be a priority your business welcomes with open arms.

Thoughtful, carefully considered, quality content that uses keyword phrases relating to the content in your article, added frequently to any website is one of the single most important methods used to generate search engine relevance to your website.  Starting with that content, and adding quality inbound links,  re-purposing that content in the social media world (such as on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) can result in high rankings by the search engines for your products, services, or whatever the purpose for your online presence.

Fresh content in your web “pages” are indexed by Google on a monthly basis.   Articles posted to your “blog”, however, are spidered daily by the search engines and the quality of relevance and keyword optimization combined can produce immediate results in the search engine rankings for that content and your website.  That means more exposure for your products and services.

How do I create quality content for my website?

Creating fresh quality content is a difficulty for many.  Overtime, I have accepted the notion that just because writing is second nature to me, its not an easy task for a majority of people.   Its a mystery.  What do you write about?

I’d like to share a few tips on how to devise fresh ideas for compelling information that translates to articles for your blog:

1.  Record yourself on the phone with your customers and/or prospects. Those questions your customers ask?  They make up the subject matter  for your articles.  Record a few hours or several days of phone calls while you’re speaking with customers or prospects on the phone.  Listen to your recordings and dictate the information on paper.  Read through the information and extract a list of topics that rise to the surface.  Next,  create an editorial schedule.  Expand each idea combined with further evidence of your expert knowledge, and VOILA!  you’ve got an article.

Did you know that many online consumers will research a vendor, product or service to learn as much as possible before making a purchase.  Your articles about the products or services you’re representing becomes the bait on the hook.

2.  Use behavioral psychology to put yourself in the mind of your perfect target prospect. Your target audience is behaving in the same way as you do when looking for information online.  You go to your favorite search engine, type a question or keyword phrases in the search field, and scan through a list of results.   Often not finding what you’re really looking for, you type in a new search string.  Imagine 100′s and perhaps thousands of online consumers researching your products or services.  What would they type in to find your website?  What are the most powerful keyword phrases that are relevant to your products and services.    Write down a list of the top ten keyword phrases that are produced from this thoughtful exercise.  Use the keyword phrases to generate ideas for your articles and then construct sentences that repeat the keyword phrase several times.

3.  Write down a list of news or announcements that are significant to the current time frame. If you’re introducing a new product or service, or you’ve got an announcement about an award your company earned or something you’re proud to tell the world, write about it on your blog.  Others who might be looking for the credibility that this information represents, or the news article might produce a search engine result that catches someones attention while they are researching a similar product or service.

Writing fresh content is not, by itself,  a guaranteed method to produce high search engine rankings. Certainly this effort of writing quality fresh content that is keyword optimized for your product or service is one of the most important places to start.

Next, use the informative article to re-engage those in your social media circles, add share buttons to the blog so that your target audience can share the information in their circle of social media friends and followers.   If you apply yourself to this effort, there is no doubt you will put yourself on the road to increased site relevance and you’ll undoubtedly reap the benefits through more exposure to your target audience.
